Job description

TREBUCHET is looking for a Graphics Programmer to join the team on a new, undisclosed VR project. 

The role of the Graphics Programmer at TREBUCHET is to ensure a balance between visual quality and optimal performance on all target platforms. This involves exploiting as best we can the technical limits related to the graphics power of the platform. In collaboration with other programmers and the artists, the Graphics Programmer is responsible for coordinating project optimization efforts, from analysis to implementation. 

Responsibilities

  • Program specific optimizations to target platforms;

  • Be knowledgeable about technical limitations and establish performance budgets specific to each platform;

  • Collaborate with both artistic and programming teams in order to be aware of artistic intentions and technical constraints of the project; 

  • Review and analyze the code and the different visual elements of the project to detect performance problems and possible optimizations;

  • Monitor research and development in order to stay up to date on new technical advances in the industry.

Prerequisites 

  • 5 years experience as a Graphics Programmer or equivalent 

  • Development experience on consoles (PlayStation 5, Oculus Quest 2)

  • Mastery of Unity, HLSL and C#

  • Excellent level of mathematics

  • Excellent sense of innovation and good understanding of the iterative process

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to visualize and communicate ideas

  • Autonomous, resourceful, versatile, organised

  • Can communicate orally and in writing in both French and English

Assets

  • Experience in procedural development;

  • Experience in VR development;

  • Experience in an indie studio.
